2013 Jordan 1 OG Sneaker

In 2013, the Air Jordan 1 will be releasing in several different colorways and flavors, but the one particular variant of the legendary shoe that has sneakerheads in a quiet frenzy is the return of the OG Air Jordan 1 in its white, black and red colorway. The shoe that essentially started the basketball sneaker craze will be one of the most highly anticipated drops in the entire 2013 release calendar.

Kicks on Fire was invited to check out a Jordan Brand Spring 2013 Preview on Monday and they were able to see the other colorways that fans will definitely be excited for when they hit next year. While there are the standard favorite colorway themes like the UNC-themed Air Jordan 1 Phat, the Air Jordan 1 will also be transitioning into paying tributes to teams that Michael Jordan used to torment, like the Georgetown Hoyas and the New York Knicks. Other colorways featured at the preview event include an electric green version that is destined to be a popular pair either in Boston or during St. Patrick's Day and a Gucci-colored pair that exudes luxury, which is fairly tough to do with a basketball sneaker.

Stay tuned here in the coming months to find out what release dates these classics will get in the coming year.

But what the attendees and those who have been able to see the pictures that have made it on online appear to be the return of the Air Jordan 1 in its original form. For years, fans have been complaining about the inclusion of the Jumpman logo on the tongue and the heel because they were obviously not in the original Air Jordan 1 design. And while several pairs at the preview event did use that same design ideology, there were also other colorways that bring back the Nike Air tag on the tongue and do away with the Jumpman logo on the heel for a nice and clean look.
